The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 98.0mm bore x 74.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 558.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
