The Harley-Davidson XLH1000 Sportster was a v2, four-stroke sport motorcycle produced between 1972 and 1985. It could reach a top speed of 106 mph (170 km/h). Max torque was 52.0 ft/lbs (70.5 Nm) @ 3800 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 48.95 HP (36.5 KW) @ 6000 RPM.

Engine

The engine was a air cooled v2, four-stroke. A 81.0mm bore x 96.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 997.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 8.8:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).

Drive

The bike has a 4-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the wet-multiple disk.

Chassis

It came with a mj 90-19 front tire and a mt 90-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The XLH1000 Sportster was fitted with a 2.25 Gallon (8.50 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 58.5 inches (1486 mm) long.
