The investment bank that refinanced Harley-Davidson in 1985 after the original financer of the buyout (Citicorp) decided to pull out. According to author Chris Reid, Heller was the only firm that would consider supporting Harley at the time, and without that support, Harley-Davidson would have faced bankruptcy. Heller was impressed by the strength of the brand name, the recovering motorcycle market and the steps already taken to turn the company around. One of Heller's top managers was also a Harley rider, which probably helped.
