The Hercules 316 was a single cylinder, two-stroke standard produced by Hercules between 1951 and 1956. It could reach a top speed of 37 mph (60 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 2.95 HP (2.2 KW) @ 4000 RPM.

A 48.0mm bore x 54.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 98.0 cubic centimeters.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 2.50-19 front tire and a 2.50-19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The 316 was fitted with a 2.91 Gallon (11.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 163.14 pounds (74.0 Kg).
