The Honda CB500 was a four-cylinder-inline, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Honda between 1971 and 1973. It was similarly styled to the CB750K, but smaller and lighter, with an output of 50 hp and a manufacturer's specified top speed of 102 mph. Claimed horsepower was 48.0 HP (34.3 KW) @ 8600 RPM. It was produced until 1973 with minor revisions each year. In 1974 it was replaced by the CB550K.

The engine was an air cooled four, four-stroke. A 56.0mm bore x 50.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 471.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a single overhead cam (sohc).
