:This article is about the Honda CB500K "Four" 4-Cylinder model. For the CB500 Twin cylinder model, see Honda CB500T
The Honda CB500 was a four-cylinder-inline, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Honda between 1971 and 1973. It was similarly styled to the CB750K, but smaller and lighter, with an output of 50 hp and a manufacturer's specified top speed of 102 mph. Claimed horsepower was 46.0 HP (34.3 KW) @ 8600 RPM. It was produced until 1973 with minor revisions each year. In 1974 it was replaced by the CB550K.
Engine
Drive
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate.
Chassis
It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 160/60-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. wave disc. two-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. wave disc. single-piston caliper. in the rear. The front suspension was a 41mm fork while the rear was equipped with a pro-link single shock with nine-position spring preload adjustability. The CB500F was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 388.01 pounds (176.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.51 inches (1410 mm) long.
