The Honda CBR 1000F was a Four stroke, transverse four cylinder, liquid cooled Sport Bike motorcycle produced by Honda from 1987 to 1995.. Max torque was 76.71 ft/lbs (104.0 Nm) @ 8500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 131.96 HP (98.4 KW) @ 9500 RPM.

A 77.0 bore x 53.6mm stroke result in a displacement of just 998.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multiple discs.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 120/70-17 front tire and a 170/60-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double disc 296 mm in the front and a Single disc 276 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic air assisted and ant-dive while the rear was equipped with a ro-link monoshock. 6-way preload. The wheelbase was 59.09 inches (1501 mm) long.

The CBR1000F'87 was sold in 1987 and was available in one of three color schemes: Black with Monza Red, Alaska Blue with Atlanta Gray, or Winterlake Blue with Atlanta Gray. The "HURRICANE" decal on the black bike was black. The tank top, inner fairing, and "1000" decal were the secondary color (red or gray). The black bike had red wheels; but the blue bikes had silver wheels. The engine was a 998cc DOHC 4- valve liquid-cooled inline four cylinder linked to a 6-speed transmission and a chain drive. The serial number began 1HFSC210*HA001001.

The CBR1000F'88 was sold in 1988 and was available in one of two color schemes: Starlight Silver Metallic with Karakorum Gray or Granite Blue Metallic with Monza Red. The "HURRICANE" tank decal on the blue bike was Silver. The serial number began 1HFSC210*JA100001.

The CBR1000F'90 was sold in 1990 and was available in one of two color schemes: Zeus Silver Metallic with Medium Gray Metallic or Pearl Crystal White with Red, Blue, Gold, and Gray. The bike had twin- bulb headlight and radial tires. The engine was a 998cc DOHC 16 valve liquid-cooled inline 4 cylinder linked to a 6-speed transmission. The serial number began JH2SC240*LM000001.

The CBR1000F'91 was sold in 1991 and was available in one color scheme: Passion Red with Checker Black Metallic. The serial number began JH2SC240*MM100001.

1993[edit | edit source]

The CBR1000F'93 was sold in 1993 and was available in one color scheme: Black with Blitz Gray Metallic and Medium Gray Metallic. There was new bodywork for 1993. It featured linked braking system. The upper stripes were light gray and the lower cowl was dark gray. The serial number began JH2SC240*PM200002.

The CBR1000F'94 was sold in 1994 and was available in one color scheme: Mat Black with Ross White and Red. The upper red stripe was removed in favor of a red triangle. There were body work protectors on the upper cowl. The serial number began JH2SC240*RM300002.

The CBR1000F'95 was sold in 1995 and was available in one color scheme: Gloss Black with Blitz Gray Metallic and Yellow. The serial number began JH2SC240*SM400001.
