The Honda CBR900RR is a motorcycle produced by Honda from 1993 to 1999.

CBR900RR

The CBR900RR is a large displacement sportbike manufacturered by Honda. The CBR900RR was first introduced in 1993. In the UK and non-US markets it is commonly known as the Fireblade. The lead engineer on the project at Honda was Tadeo Baba. In 1995 it was bumped up to 918cc and in 2000 it became the CBR929RR. Two years later it was bumped up again to become the CBR954RR. In 2004 it was replaced altogether with the CBR1000RR which doesn't bear as much resemblance to it's predecessors.

For a long time Honda remained king of the motorcycle world with its transverse four. Then in 1982 Honda attempted, with success, to venture into the field of the V4. But in 1992 the giant Japanese company returned to its roots with an all-new transverse four, the CBR900RR, equipped with all the necessary assets to make it a great success.

Craze for Superlatives

The Japanese manufacturers have definitely got the craze for superlatives, trying to outdo each other with ever more repetitive model designations. The new Honda CBR900RR declares straight away its relationship with the legendary CB and follows up with no fewer than three "R"s; the final "RR" signifying "Race Replica"
