The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 86.5mm bore x 71.5mm stroke result in a displacement of just 420.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the automatic.

It came with a 24/8-12 front tire and a 24/10-11 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a independent double-wishbone while the rear was equipped with a swingarm with single shock. The FourTrax Rancher was fitted with a 3.9 Gallon (14.76 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 608.03 pounds (275.8 Kg). The wheelbase was 49.21 inches (1250 mm) long.
