The Honda MR175 is a motorcycle produced by Honda from 1975 to 1977.

1975[edit | edit source]

The MR175K0 was sold in 1975 and came in one color combination: Glare Green with Silver and Black. The gas tank was green and the fenders were silver painted plastic. The headlight shell was silver with a chrome rock guard. The side covers were black. The engine was a 2-stroke piston port single cylinder displacing 171cc linked to a 5-speed transmission. The serial number began: MR175-1000001. The combustion chamber was fed by a single slide type Keihin carburator. The electrical system consisted of a 6 volt coil with condenser and a 12 volt lighting generator. The lighting generator is able to withstand a draw of up to 75 watts. The bike was sold as an enduro race style bike. It was easily modified to be street legal. The prefered gas mix is 32:1. At this point in time obtaining OEM parts is nearly impossable for the carb and lower end. If you are one of the few proud owners who have an Elsinore take care of it well. Its a costly restore and not recomended unless you are a fan of old Honda motorcycles.

1976[edit | edit source]

1977[edit | edit source]

1977 Honda MR175

The MR175'77 was sold in 1977 in Bright Red. The gas tank was red and the fenders were red, color impregnated plastic. The side cover was also red with a black number panel. The headlight shell was black with a chrome rock guard. The new side cover design doubles as a number plate. The engine was a 2-stroke piston port single cylinder displacing 171cc linked to a 5-speed transmission. The serial number began: MR175-2100001.
