Editing Honda MT125

In 1973, [[Honda]], the world's leading constructor and the most ardent protagonist of the four-stroke engine, surprised the motorcycling community by presenting its first modern motorcycles with two-stroke engines, the Elsinore 125 and 250cc range of motocross and [[Enduro]] machines.
==American Champion== 
The Honda Elsinore motocross 250, launched in the fall of 1972, was the [[marque]]'s first two stroke since the model F of twenty years earlier. It also conformed to Honda's "green" policy of the early 1970s, which was represented in four-stroke form by the [[Honda SL125|SL125]] and [[Honda XL250|XL250]]. The Elsinore marked Honda's return to the two-stroke market in fine style by winning the American 250cc motocross championship with the [[Honda CR250M|CR250M]].

The MT125K0 Elsinore was sold in 1974 in one color combination: custom Silver Metallic and Blue. The gas tank was silver with a blue stripe on top. The fenders were silver painted plastic. The side cover was metallic silver. The exhaust system heat shield was chrome. The engine was a 2-stroke single cylinder with oil injection displacing 123cc linked to a 5-speed transmission. The serial number began MT125-1000001.

The exhaust system heat shield was black. The fenders were silver painted plastic. The engine was a 2-stroke single cylinder with oil injection displacing 123cc linked to a 5-speed transmission. The serial number began MT125- 2000001.

The MT125R'77 was sold in 1977, but no longer with the Elsinore name. It came with Primer White so that the purchaser could paint it the color he liked. The bike was dressed with a fiberglass fairing, tank, fender, and seat cowl. It also had a mechanical front disc brake with leading [[caliper]]. The bike was manufactured by Honda Racing Service Center (RSC) and designed for closed-course, competition use roadracing. The engine was a 2-stroke air-cooled single cylinder displacing 123cc and linked to a 6-speed transmission. The horsepower was 26. The serial number began MT125R2F-1081.
