The Honda NX125'88 was also called the NX125L'88 in a special California only market. As the designation implies, it was sold in 1988. Only one color was available: Ross White. The seat and fork boots were blue, while the frame was silver. The "HONDA" and "NX" decals were black, while the "125" decal was gold. The fairing, fenders and side covers were plastic and painted Ross White. The engine was a 124cc 4-stroke OHC single cylinder with a 5-speed transmission. It had an electric start, but no kick start. The California serial number began JH2JD0919JK000001 while the rest of the United States models began JH2JD090XJK000001
