Overview

The 2015/16 PCX150 sports a new sense of style, highlighted by its new dual-headlight design. Inside, a larger fuel tank makes it even more practical. In between, its automatic transmission and great fuel efficiency make it a smart choice. Want to know more? Just click on the hotspots above for more detail. The best-selling motorized two-wheeler in Europe is a Honda PCX. An interesting fact, given that Europeans know a thing or two about scooters. They have long recognized the user-friendly convenience, low cost of operation, low carbon footprint and the high fun factor that scooters bring to everyday transportation. Well it seems more and more Canadian city dwellers are figuring out that scooters may just be the perfect solution to high fuel prices, the high cost of parking and ever-increasing urban gridlock. A quick look at the changes to the 2015 PCX150 and it's easy to understand why it continues to be held in such high regard both in Europe and in Canada. Starting with the exterior styling, the 2015 PCX150 offers a more modern look while retaining the slim proportions that allow it to slip so easily through traffic. The new bodywork features full LED lighting that not only improves conspicuity but reduces electrical load on the alternator, thereby improving efficiency. Additional low-friction technologies utilized in the engine work with new low-rolling resistance tires to improve fuel economy even further. With fuel tank capacity increased by 2.1 liters to 8 liters and its new more efficient design, a 2015 PCX150 may be a rare sight at the pumps. Everyday convenience features now include a 12V power outlet, a hazard warning light system, a digital clock, a fuel consumption meter, a larger left hand fairing pocket that can accommodate a water bottle and a sprung seat hinge that keeps the seat open when accessing the 25 litre underseat storage area.

Key features •The lightweight and compact liquid-cooled SOHC two-valve 153 cc engine powering the PCX150 offers high durability with excellent performance, plus quiet, smooth operation and reduced CO2 production. •Durable tubular steel underbone frame features a short 1,315 mm wheelbase and optimized steering geometry to provide nimble handling and a stable, comfortable experience for rider and passenger. •An advanced Combined Braking System links the front and rear wheels for balanced stopping when pedestrians or other road users do the unexpected. •Sporty but elegant styling is never out of place and is complimented by full LED lighting for 2015. •Handy glove compartment up front allows quick access to the essentials gum, sun glasses, cell phone, wallet or even a bottle of water.

Power To The People. With its 150cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine, the PCX150 is great for urban commutes, trips around town, and is freeway-legal, should you need to head onto the highway. More Fuel Range. How far can you go on a tank of gas? With a PCX150, even further this year. With its great fuel efficiency rating and a bigger gas tank in 2015, the PCX150 makes even more sense. New Lights, New Look. New dual front LED headlights along with new bodywork really make the PCX150 stand out. Who says practical can’t also be stylish? Engine/Drivetrain The lightweight and compact liquid-cooled SOHC two-valve 153 cc engine powering the PCX150 offers high durability with excellent performance, plus quiet, smooth operation and reduced CO2 production. The engine layout is built around a host of low-friction technologies working in harmony. An offset cylinder reduces friction caused by contact between piston and bore efficiently transmitting combustion energy to the crankshaft. A ‘spiny’ cast-iron sleeve – with tiny surface extensions – reduces distortion of the inner bore diameter allowing lowered tension in the piston rings, reducing friction. A shell-type needle bearing is used for the rocker arm shaft while small and light rollers work in conjunction with carefully chosen cam profiles and low tension valve springs to minimize valvetrain friction. A compact combustion chamber and PGM-FI fuel injection system optimize burning rate, tailoring torque characteristics to suit the rpm ranges typically used in urban situations. A compact high-efficiency radiator – integrated into the exterior of the right-side crankcase – employs a small, light fan reducing frictional losses, lowering drag. The electronically controlled brushless ACG starter is an integrated component mounted directly on the end of the crankshaft. Serving as both starter motor and alternator it spins the engine directly when starting eliminating noise from starter gear engagement.. A V-Matic wide-ratio continuously variable transmission employs a quiet, durable drive belt, manufactured from high-elasticity rubber, delivering efficient drive to the rear wheel. Rolling resistance within the transmission unit is reduced by the use of three low-friction main bearings, each specifically designed to deal with the loads it individually receives.. Chassis/Suspension Durable tubular steel underbone frame features a short 1,315 mm wheelbase and optimized steering geometry to provide nimble handling and a stable, comfortable experience for rider and passenger. The low-slung fuel tank is mounted under the floorboards to keep the center of gravity low, enhancing maneuverability around urban obstacles. A tight 2m turning radius, allows easy manoeuvring in tricky spaces, while 5-spoke 14” cast aluminum wheels add stability and rider confidence. Special Dunlop tires – with a compound designed to reduce drag – are fitted and contribute toward improved fuel efficiency. A commanding view of the road from the broad, plush seat helps you choose the best path through urban congestion. An advanced Combined Braking System links the front and rear wheels for balanced stopping when pedestrians or other road users do the unexpected. Additional Features Sporty but elegant styling is never out of place and is complimented by full LED lighting for 2015. Protective bodywork sweeps back into generous floorboards for the feet, that help shield the rider from urban grime. Convenient, spacious under-seat storage area easily accommodates a laptop or most full-face helmets. Opening both the seat and fuel lid is via one-touch switches. The seat features a sprung hinge so it stays up when open. A central console presents all the information within a neat, concise design. Speed is displayed by a luminous needle moving around the outside of the LCD panel, which contains an odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, plus the new for 2015 fuel efficiency meter and clock. Handy glove compartment up front allows quick access to the essentials gum, sun glasses, cell phone, wallet or even a bottle of water. 12V power outlet in the glove compartment allows convenient charging of personal electronics. A hazard function that flashes all four turn signals provides additional conspicuity when needed. Easy To Park The PCX150 gives you the choice of both a sidestand and a centerstand. That makes it easy to park for a fast dash into a store (the sidestand) or when you need to park it upright in a tighter space (the centerstand). With a lot of other scooters, you only get one or the other. PGM Fuel-Injected Engine The PCX150 features liquid cooling and Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) for great performance in all traffic conditions. Plus the PCX150 offers some impressive fuel efficiency Increased Fuel Capacity The PCX150 already offers good fuel efficiency. But this year we’ve given it a new, bigger fuel tank, and that means you can go even longer and ride even further between fill-ups. Fresh New Style A glance will tell you that the 2015 PCX150 is a new machine. Look at the way that new bodywork flows together, and check out the color options. Dual Headlights One of the first things you’ll notice about the new 2015 PCX150 is its dual LED headlights. In addition to being a big element in the PCX150’s bold new style, the dual headlights provide ample lighting and aid visibility. 12-Volt Accessory Adaptor The PCX150 Integral 12-volt adaptor has a convenient charging point for personal electronics. Electric Start Turn the key, press the button and the PCX150’s fuel-injected engine fires right up, runs smooth, even in colder weather. V-Matic Transmission With the Honda V-Matic automatic transmission, just start the engine, twist the gas and go. The V-Matic means no shifting, ever—you concentrate on the road ahead and enjoy the ride! The V-Matic is a continuously variable design, so you'll never feel it lurch from one gear to another. Smooth. Under-Seat Storage Flip that seat open and you have room for a full-face helmet and or an evening’s worth of groceries. The main compartment locks for security and is weather-resistant, too. There's even a second compartment in the dash for your mobile phone, wallet or MP3 player. Rider Comfort That long, plush seat does more than just look comfortable—it's probably nicer than that sofa in your living room. An improved seat cushion this year makes it even better, while the stepped passenger section gives your copilot a better view.
