The ST1100 began its production in 1990 and ended in 2002, although the police variant, the ST1100P, is still available as of the time of writing.  A revamped model, the [[Honda ST1300|ST1300]] (also called the Pan-European) was available in the US beginning in 2003.  Originally conceived, designed and developed by Honda Germany as a major continent sport cruiser. With a huge 7.4 gallon gas tank that sits between your ankles, for better handling do to the low center of gravity, that gets up to 54 MPG. The ST1100 is a much better designed and comfortable long distance bike then the Japanese designed ST1300 or any of the new BMWs that need a rear Paralever to do what the ST does with out one. (I own all types of BMW's over the last forty years) A key problem with the new Japanese designed ST1300 is that it throws off a ton of engine, exhaust manifold and radiator  HEAT onto the riders legs where the ST1100 does not. The ST1100 is the bike that are used by the Police in most of the EUC countries do to the handling, range, reliability, speed and comfort. The ST1100 has one of the best stock seats ever made for a motorcycle!  A fully adjustable and BRIGHT headlight while riding and some of the best vibration free mirrors on any bike out today. I love it for the torque from the 90 degree V4 that is so smooth, solid and balanced.
