The Honda ST1300A was a Liquid-cooled longitudinally mounted 90-degree V-4, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, 4-stroke Sport touring motorcycle produced by Honda in 2003.
Engine[edit | edit source]
A 78.7mm bore x 78.7mm stroke result in a displacement of just 1261.0 cubic centimeters.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5 Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc, manual.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 120/70ZR-18 front tire and a 170/60ZR-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual full-floating 310mm discs with LBS three-piston calipers, ABS in the front and a Single 316mm disc with LBS three-piston caliper, ABS in the rear. The front suspension was a 45 mm HMAS cartridge fork; 116 millimetres travel while the rear was equipped with a Pro-Link single HMAS gas-charged shock with five-position spring preload adjustability; 122 millimetres travel. The wheelbase was 58.7 inches (1491 mm) long.
2003 Honda ST1300A[edit | edit source]
For riders looking for extra security, Honda prepared an ABS version of the 2002 ST1300. The ST1300A brings the enhanced stability of the anti-locking bakes, with shorter stopping distances and more peace of mind in emergency scenarios.
The ABS works in conjunction with the existing Linked Brakes System (LBS), which balances the stopping power when only one of the levers is being used. Lighter but sturdier brake rotors are being used for less unsprung weight and dependable stopping force.
