EngineEdit

The engine was a liquid cooled v2, four-stroke. A 64.0mm bore x 62.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 398.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

DriveEdit

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-plate coil spring.

ChassisEdit

It came with a 100/90-19 front tire and a 150/80-16 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. hydraulic in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a swing arm. The VT400S was fitted with a 2.64 Gallon (10.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 504.86 pounds (229.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 61.42 inches (1560 mm) long.
