The XL100S'79 was sold in 1979 and came in Tahitian Red. The gas tank stripes and side cover stripes were yellow, gray, and black. The shock springs and turn signal housings were chrome. The bike had a 19" front wheel and a 17" rear wheel. The engine was an OHC single cylinder displacing 99cc and linked to a 5-speed transmission. The serial number began HD01-5002640.

The XL100S'80 was sold in 1980 and came in Helios Red. The gas tank stripes and side cover stripes were orange, yellow, and white. The "HONDA" tank decal was red outlined in white.
