The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, two-stroke. A 39.5mm bore x 40.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 49.0 cubic centimeters.
DriveEdit
The bike has a single-speed, adjustable transmission. Power was moderated via the dry, centrifugal type.
ChassisEdit
It came with a 90/90-10 front tire and a 90/90-10 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc. fixed disc and caliper with hydraulic control in the front and a single disc. fixed disc and caliper with hydraulic control in the rear. The front suspension was a marzocchi upside-down telescopic hydraulic fork with advanced axle while the rear was equipped with a sachs progressive soft damp type with single hydraulic shock absorber, spring pre-load adjustment. The SM50 was fitted with a 0.71 Gallon (2.70 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 95.68 pounds (43.4 Kg). The wheelbase was 39.17 inches (995 mm) long.
2011 Husqvarna SM 50Edit
For the youngest among supermotard fans (and their parents), the engineers from Husqvarna have launched the 2011 MY SM 50. It sports a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 49cc, single cylinder lump paired to a single-speed, double-clutch transmission, which offers two selectable power deliveries, for either novice or more experienced riders. In addition, a race-inspired suspension package, composed of an inverted front fork and a fully adjustable rear monoshock increase the desirability of this small and nimble machine.
2012 Husqvarna SM 50Edit
For the youngest among supermotard fans, the engineers from Husqvarna have launched the 2012 MY SM 50. At its heart lies a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 49cc, single cylinder engine paired to a single gear transmission, with two configurations for novice and more experienced riders. In addition, it comes standard with an upside-down fork, front and rear disc brakes, an adjustable dual clutch transmission, a radial front brake master cylinder and an adjustable rear shock absorber.
