Engine
The engine was a liquid cooled twin, four-stroke. A 101.0mm bore x 62.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 11.5:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).
Drive
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc clutch / hydraulically operated.
Chassis
It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 150/70-r18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. twin-disc brake with floating brake calipers and brake discs. abs. in the front and a single disc. floating brake caliper and brake disc in the rear. 2006 KTM 990 Adventure
The 990 Adventure is a revised version of the big 950 Adventure. The 990 has electronic fuel injection, a regulated catalytic converter and an ABS System, has the LC8 engine, with an increased displacement of 999 cc. The KTM 990 Adventure comes in two varieties: the KTM 990 Adventure S and new “Dakar-Design”.
