The '''[[Kawasaki]] ER-6n''' was a twin, [[four-stroke]] Naked [[motorcycle]] produced by [[Kawasaki]] between 2006 and 2017. Max [[torque]] was 47.21 ft/lbs (64.0 Nm) @ 6500 RPM. Claimed [[horsepower]] was 70.54 HP (52.6 KW) @ 8500 RPM.  

==Engine==
The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] twin, four-stroke. A 83.0mm [[bore]] x 60.0mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 649.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).  

==Drive==
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front [[tire]] and a 160/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. dual piston. optional abs in the front and a single disc. optional abs in the rear. The front suspension was a  41 mm telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a offset laydown single-shock with. The ER-6n was fitted with a 4.23 Gallon (16.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 442.03 pounds (200.5 Kg). The wheelbase was 55.51 inches (1410 mm) long.

2005 was the year the Kawasaki ER-6n was introduced. The 4-stroke parallel-twin engine had a displacement increase up to 649cc and the power went up to 72 PS.

The styling was also refined, but the sporty character of this naked commuter bike remained intact. ABS was introduced as a option, and the rear shock went to the right side of the bike, becoming an iconic trademark for the ER series.

The instrument cluster was completely redesigned and received an analog tacho with a multi-function LCD screen for essential riding data, and the fuel tank has also been redesigned for better ergonomics.

The 2006 Kawasaki ER-6n continues the side-mounter rear shock tradition. While offering the same suspension performance, this solution allows for a shorter wheelbase with the same swingarm, offering great traction and better cornering.

As for the rest, the 2006 ER-6n comes with several race-inspired features, such as the petal disc rotors and a short-profile, low-slung exhaust can for a more compact design and better mass centralization. The 649cc parallel-twin engine now delivers 72 PS and the whole bike comes with a dry weight of 174 kg.


==2008 Kawasaki ER-6n==

The 2007 Kawasaki ER-6n is almost the same bike as the one for 2006, save for some different color schemes. This year's model sports the already iconic offset side-mounted rear shock absorber with adjustable preload; using this design, the Er-6n can get a shorter wheelbase for better cornering and yet retain the swingarm length for good traction during hard acceleration.

As for the rest, the 2007 ER-6n comes with several race-inspired features, such as the petal disc rotors and a short-profile, low-slung exhaust can for a more compact design and better mass centralization. The 649cc parallel-twin engine now delivers 72 PS and the whole bike comes with a dry weight of 174 kg.

The 2008 Kawasaki ER-6n is the first model to receive a major redesign. On the visual side, a lot of elements have changed: a new, more vertical headlight, new side panels, a completely redesigned instrument cluster, taller fuel tank, LED trail lights and an inner fender.

The frame of the 2008 ER-6n is all-new, but it still sports the offset rear shock  and low-mounted exhaust. Though the power specs have remained the same, the engine has been tuned for a more responsive character in the mid-range. This means riders will have more fun at medium speed in the city, and will enjoy the smoother power delivery under 4000 rpm.

For 2009, the Kawasaki ER-6n receives optional ABS brakes for better stopping performance combined with the petal rotors. This year also brings a darkened paintjob for the frame, further stressing the aggressive nature of the bike.

The model retains the previous year's visual and functional upgrades, such as the new headlight and redesigned, compact yet easy-to-read instrument cluster with the multi-function LCD screen and  sporty looks.

Riders get the same mid-range-optimized fuel-injected 649cc parallel-twin 4-stroke engine with electric start and digital ignition, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with chain final transmission.

2010 brings new colors for Kawasaki's iconic naked bike ER-6n, while the styling suffers minute tuning operations making the bike look sleeker and a bit more aggressive.

The 2013 ER-6n is powered by the same 4-stroke parallel-twin engine with 649cc displacement and delivering 72 PS. The power and torque deployment has been tuned for better response in the mid-range rpm, making the ER-6n more fun to ride in the city at moderate speed.

The ABS system is still optional, and many more accessories, such as touring windshields, top cases and more can be installed on the 2010 ER-6n to make it a  better commuter, or even a touring machine.

2011 brings a of of changes for the Kawasaki ER-6n. First comes the new frame, now a double-pipe perimeter chassis, underlining the naked style of the bike. The swingarm sports the same technology and comes with a curved design better accommodating the race-type short muffler.

Air intake ducts are placed between the frame tubes for a more compact build and enhanced looks, while providing cooler, fresh air for the engine. The front cowl has also received tweaks and a smoked instrument visor for a more aggressive, streetfighter look.

On the tech/ engine side things are almost the same, but minute changes also appeared in the dimensions chapter. While compression is now a bit lower (10.8:1), the ground clearance dropped to 130mm, with a taller seat height and 0.5 L increase in fuel capacity.

Air intake ducts are placed between the frame tubes for a more compact build and enhanced looks, while providing cooler, fresh air for the engine. The front cowl has also received tweaks and a smoked instrument visor for a more aggressive, streetfighter look.

On the tech/ engine side things are almost the same, but minute changes also appeared in the dimensions chapter. While compression is now a bit lower (10.8:1), the ground clearance dropped to 130mm, with a taller seat height and 0.5 L increase in fuel capacity (now 16 L ).

With a powerful 649cc 4-stroke parallel twin engine, the new 2014 MY Kawasaki ER-6n ABS is suited for more than one scenario, being able to perform nicely in everyday traffic or on longer hauls.

The engine and chassis have been fine-tuned for increased comfort and dependability. Also, the engine has been fine-tuned to better tackle low to mid range revs.

The double-pipe frame and the swingarm are rigid and contribute to on overall sharper and firmer handling. The rigid-mount frame enhances the feel of the bike, though it may cause some extra vibrations.

This motorcycle is only available for purchase in Canada.
