The Kawasaki Z400 ABS was a twin, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Kawasaki between 1974 and 2019. It could reach a top speed of 91 mph (147 km/h). Max torque was 28.03 ft/lbs (38.0 Nm) @ 8000 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 26.42 HP (19.7 KW) @ 10500 RPM.

Engine

The engine was a air cooled twin, four-stroke. A 70.0mm bore x 51.8mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a overhead cams (ohc).

Drive

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-discs.

Chassis

It came with a 110/70-17m front tire and a 150/60-17m rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a uni-trak® swingarm. The Z400 ABS was fitted with a 3.7 Gallon (14.00 Liters) fuel tank. The wheelbase was 53.9 inches (1369 mm) long.

1974 - 1983 Kawasaki Z 400

Equipped with a 399 ccm engine, the Z400 naked bike, which was manufactured by Kawasaki between 1974 and 1983, could reach a top speed of 179 km/h.

Using a segment-leading Ninja 399 cc parallel-twin engine, the rather lightweight Kawasaki Z400 ABS is an authentic supernaked, despite only offering 28 lb-ft at a stratospheric 8,000 rpm. Thanks to a light trellis frame and an aggressive design, the bike is both balanced and highly capable on the street, while the standard anti-lock braking system makes it a perfect fit for beginners who want to turn heads.
