The 2008 Kawasaki 1400GTR brings together the best of two worlds: the racing motorcycle-inspired engine offering insane amounts of power and that of motorcycle touring, stressing the comfort-oriented features and aiming to provide the most pleasant ride.

The 1400GTR engine is a 4-in-line power unit with an 1352cc displacement, producing 155 PS and a huge 136 Nm (more than 100 ft-lbs) of torque. Since the max torque is reached in the medium-range rpm (6200 rpm), the 2008 Kawasaki 1400GTR is fun to ride in any conditions. Highway speed and slow turns on mountain roads, alike.

The bike is literally loaded with all sorts of convenient features, such as tire pressure sensors, a maintenance-free shaft final driver, ABS brakes and easily adjustable suspension, an electric windshield and a centralized, easy-to-read instrument cluster.

Touring-oriented features are also in place for the discerning rider: 12V socket, a tank storage compartment, sculpted seats and easily-detachable color-matched panniers or the 22 L tank capacity.

The 2009 Kawasaki 1400GTR retains all the cool features of the 2008 model, but brings forth technologically-advanced implements which radically change the bike.

First of all it's the traction control system which makes sure you get as little wheel slip as possible, offering a safer ride. Also on the safety side, the 2009 Kawasaki 1400GTR sports the coactive braking ABS system, distributing the right amount of stopping force to each wheel for shorter, safer, more confident braking.

KIPASS (Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System) is another security feature which includes an immobiliser and which will prevent bike theft. Another extremely cool feature is the economical ride mode/ indicator.

Not only will the 2009 Kawasaki 1400GTR show you when you're driving in an economical manner, but you can also activate a fuel economy assistance mode helping you get the best mileage ever: less than 6000 rpm, less than 30% throttle and under 160 km/h (100 mph). Finally, a bigger electric windscreen and higher mirrors will add to the visibility and protection against weather factor.
