[[Kawasaki]] modified the KZ model  to create the '''ZN700 LTD,''' which squeaks in at 694cc to get just under the 700cc-threshold imposed by the [[1980s motorcycle tariff]]. In 1987, [[Harley-Davidson]] petitioned for an early end to the 5-year tariff (tax) and 750 Japanese bikes were back in full force, thus giving the ZN 700 a short production cycle.

The engine was a [[air cooled]] in-line four, four-stroke. A 64.0mm [[bore]] x 54.0mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 694.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).

==Chassis==
It came with a 110/90-18 61h front [[tire]] and a 130/90-16 67h rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. single piston calipers in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a  telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a swing arm with dual air adjustable shocks. The ZN700 LTD Shaft was fitted with a 3.67 Gallon (13.90 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 478.4 pounds (217.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 59.45 inches (1510 mm) long.
