Most modern motorcycle have both a kill switch and a key switch.  The kill switch is there to allow emergency killing of the engine (say if the bike turns over on top of you).

Kill switch and Keyswitch

Most modern motorcycle have both a kill switch and a key switch. The kill switch is there to allow emergency killing of the engine (say if the bike turns over on top of you).
