The Moto Guzzi Falcone Sport was a single cylinder, four-stroke touring motorcycle produced between 1950 and 1973. It could reach a top speed of 87 mph (140 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 27.36 HP (20.4 KW) @ 4800 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 88.0mm bore x 82.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 498.0 cubic centimeters. The engine featured a 6.9:1 compression ratio. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 4-speed transmission. The final drive was via chain. Power was moderated via the wet multiplate.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.50-18 front tire and a 3.50-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The Falcone Sport was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 374.79 pounds (170.0 Kg).

The Moto Guzzi Falcone was built from 1950 as a replacement for the the GTW model first produced in 1934. The Falcone was the last of the classic Guzzi singles with a horizontal four-stroke 500cc engine. The engine first saw the light of day in 1921 with a horizontal single-cylinder pushrod motor, with the ‘classic’ Mandello del Lario bore and stroke measurements of 88x82mm. The frame is a twin-tubed cradle design with telescopic forks and a rear swingarm with a spring under the engine and a pair of friction dampers.
