The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, located in Birmingham, Alabama has one of the largest motorcycle collections in the world. They have almost 900 different motorcycles from 140 different marquees in their 5-story 80,000 sq ft facility. George Barber was a longtime Porche aficionado, having raced them in the 1960's with over 63 first place wins. In 1989 he started the Barber Museum when he realized there was not a motorcycle museum covering all aspects of motorcycling. Many of the restorations are done in house, however, some bikes are purchased new, original, or unrestored. The Barber Museum fields it's own vintage motorcycle race team and has won seven nation championships. This museum has also begun hosting a Vintage Motorcycle Festival every year in October.
