Overview[edit | edit source]

NSU Race Fox, Dolphin

After winning the world championship and the German championship in 1953, the NSU Race Fox was optimized further. Engine power was increased by 2 hp, the weight was reduced by 3 kg and the streamlined wind tunnel-tested cladding of the Type Dolphin model was fitted, increasing the maximum speed by 8 km/h to 177 km/h. In a total of nine races in 1954, Hollaus achieved first place seven times on the NSU Race Fox and became the first Austrian to win the motorcycle world championship (in the up to 125 cc class).
