DriveEdit

The bike has a 6-speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the wet multi-disc, manual.

ChassisEdit

It came with a 100/80-17 46H front tire and a 120/80-17 63H rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc, 2-piston caliper in the front and a single disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a non-adjustable upside-down fork while the rear was equipped with a monoshock.

The 1999 MY Rieju Motors Spike 50 sports a liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 49cc, single cylinder lump mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It comes standard with a non-adjustable upside-down fork in the front, a monoshock in the rear, a braking system of a single disc with two-piston calipers in the front and in the rear. It is an entry-level machine that mainly addresses younger and less-experienced riders, yet also the more experienced ones who want a more light and agile machine for the track.
