The engine was a Air cooled cooled Single cylinder, 4-stroke, OHV.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Multi-disc in oil bath.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.50 - 19 front tire and a 3.50 - 19 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum in the front and a Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic tube and spring while the rear was equipped with a Rigid, spring loaded saddle.

Sanglas was a Spanish producer for motorcycles. They built motorcycles for the Spanish police and for the Irish army. Sanglas models were a hybrid of English and German models. The chassis was based on the concept of BMW and the engine, type monoblock, 4-stroke single cylinder, OHV type, was inspired by DKW brand. The first motorcycle had a displacement of 347,75 cc. and 14.4 HP power at 4,800 rpm. At the end of 1948 the company already had 100 employees and had manufactured 200 units. From the Sanglas advertisement: “The Sanglas young people (brothers), taking like reference the motos of the moment, created trustworthy a single cylinder motor of four times of English long race type moto (Machtless, A.J.S) with the German system of cases (Zundapp, D.K.W) and a chassis of most robust of the time mixes between indestructible BMW and or proven BSA or Royal Enfield. The result was moto safer, robust and elegant of the national market.” Sanglas 350, the first model was manufactured between 1945 and 1947. Aesthetically it was painted black with white lines on the contour. In addition, the spokes and brake drums were painted gray. The ignition coils housings were presented in a silver color. The metal logo was mounted on the right side of the lamp housing. The carburetor was made of brass. The first motorcycle was equipped with a dual exhaust having a black nozzle, completed with fish tail.
