The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. A 54.0mm bore x 54.0mm stroke result in a displacement of just 123.7 cubic centimeters.

The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-disc.

It came with a 1.60-21 front tire and a 2.10-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The front suspension was a aluminum 40 mm telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a adjustable hydraulic single damper. The 125 XY was fitted with a 0.92 Gallon (3.50 Liters) fuel tank.
