The Suzuki GSF 400 BANDIT was a Air/oil Cooled, Four Stroke, Transverse Four Cylinder, DOHC Naked motorcycle produced by Suzuki between 1989 and 1991. Max torque was 28.03 ft/lbs (38.0 Nm) @ 10500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 59.0 HP (44.0 KW) @ 12000 RPM.

Engine
A 55.9mm bore x 55.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 398.0 cubic centimeters.

Drive
The bike has a 6-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.

Chassis
It came with a 110/70-17 front tire and a 150/70-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 310mm Disc 2 Piston Caliper in the front and a Single 260mm Disc 2 Piston Caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a  Telescopic Fork while the rear was equipped with a Preload Adjustable Kayaba Monoshock. The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.

1989 - 1991 Suzuki GSF 400 BANDIT
The initial model of the Bandit 400 is quite easy to recognize from its dark brown colored front forks. The same type of front forks appeared again in 1992 but then the brake discs had different design.

The bandit series is the absolute bestseller in today's Suzuki program: the GSF 600 is clearly in the first place in the new registrations in 1997, the big Bolide GSF 1200 follows already fourth place and is thus the king of Big Bikes. There are virtually no model modifications. With the change of the sixth gear and the rear sprocket the translation for the German version from 1993 was slightly shorter.
