The engine was a Liquid cooled cooled Four stroke, transverse four cylinder, DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, TSCC. The engine featured a 12.0:1 [[compression ratio]].  

==Drive==
Power was moderated via the Cable-operated multiplate wet clutch.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70 ZR17 M/C, (58W) tubeless front [[tire]] and a 190/50 ZR17 M/C (73W), tubeless rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Radial master cylinder. Radial mount, 4-piston calipers, 300 mm dual disc. in the front and a Single 2-piston caliper, 220 mm disc in the rear. The front suspension was a  Inverted telescopic, coil spring, oil damped, spring preload fully adjustable, rebound and compression damping force fully adjustable. while the rear was equipped with a Link type, oil damped, coil spring, spring preload fully adjustable, rebound damping force and compression damping force fully adjustable.. The GSX-R 1000Z Limited Edition was fitted with a 18 Litres / 4.8 US gal / 4.0 Imp gal fuel tank. The bike weighed just 168 kg / 370 lbs.. The wheelbase was 1410 mm / 55.5 in. long.
