The SV1000 is loosely based on the TL1000R engine and is similiar to the engine used in the Vstrom 1000.  It is the bigger brother of the [[Suzuki SV650]]

The '''[[Suzuki]] SV1000S''' was a four-stroke, liquid cooled, 90 degree V-Twin, DOHC, 8-valves, TSCC Sport/Touring [[motorcycle]] produced by [[Suzuki]] between 2003 and 2007. Max [[torque]] was 75.24 ft/lbs (102.0 Nm) @ 7500 RPM. Claimed [[horsepower]] was 124.98 HP (93.2 KW) @ 6800 RPM.  

==Engine==
The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] four-stroke, liquid cooled, 90 degree V-Twin, DOHC, 8-valves, TSCC. A 99.1mm [[bore]] x 99.1mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 996.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).  

==Drive==
The bike has a 6 Speed, manual transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet, multi-plate, manual.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70-ZR17 front [[tire]] and a 180/55-ZR17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Dual hydraulic discs in the front and a Single hydraulic disc in the rear. The front suspension was a  Telescopic, cartridge-type, adjustable preload, adjustable compression and rebound damping while the rear was equipped with a Link-type, adjustable preload, adjustable compression and rebound damping. The SV1000S was fitted with a 4.49 Gallon (17.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 410.06 pounds (186.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.3 inches (1430 mm) long.

The 2003 Suzuki SV 1000's chunky aluminum frame with conventional suspension and it works better than the TL 1000S ever did. The SV 1000's suspension’s not quite as good as pure sports bikes but it’s fine for most people. If you do lots of track days and fancy aftermarket shock and fork re-build will enable you to flick from peg to peg in an instant with no grief. Brakes on the Suzuki SV 1000 are strong but work best with fresh fluid.

The 2003 MY Suzuki SV1000S takes off where the big Bandit sort of left off, but the new direction is radically different. The SV1000S is what we could call a sport-all-rounder bike, built on a race-derived platform, and tweaked for everyday comfort. This new appearance in the liter class introduces all-out, sizzling hot semi-naked sportiveness, with an aggressive front cowl, dual headlights, a sharp chin and a massive trellis frame in display.

Make no mistake, the SV1000S is capable to put up a serious fight on the track, as well. With 116 hp and 102 Nm of torque, this 6-speed beast is a force to be reckoned with.

With the final S missing from the name, the 2003 MY SV1000 is obviously a fully-naked machine for those who favor the raw looks of all-muscle bikes. A truly stunning sport machine, this 116 hp v-twin is a natural born canyon carver, but its revised ergonomics also make a great uber-commuter of it.

Compact and proudly showing off its truss-style aluminum frame and v-twin engine, the 2003 MY SV1000 screams its sporty nature. Definitely not a bike for new or inexperienced riders, this machine will put a big smile on the face of every customer.


==2004 Suzuki SV1000S==

The half-naked 2004 MY SV1000S delivers track-ready performance for the skilled rider. A full-fledged sport v-twin machine, the SV1000S is nothing short of a spectacular ride, as it produces 116 hp and 102 Nm of torque, ready to scorch the asphalt with a versatile 6-speed transmission.

This model year brings  a seat lowered by 20mm and which offers a more comfortable riding position and a lowered subframe for better passenger seating. At the same time, the rear section was also tweaked for a more compact, improved appearance.

The 2005 MY SV1000S shows the same liter-class semi-naked excellence Suzuki has gotten us used to. For this model year, Suzuki went for a black frame, swingarm and matyching black wheels, adding to the aggressive sporty lines of the front cowl and pointy tail section.

The engine compression went up to 11.6:1, while the crank inertia was reduced by 20%. The throttle bodies have been also increased, while the airbox tube was reduced. Cam timing was tweaked and air pressure sensors now offer better fuel management.

Living in Europe has its perks, and the SV1000SZ is just one of them. That is, being able to ride a v-twin sport bike with killer looks manufactured as a way to celebrate 2 decades of GSX-R history. So you'll basically get your awesome SV10000S sport bike in a GSX-R livery, and this is one thing you just don't run into everyday.

The bike comes with improved performance for a crisper acceleration and feel better than the previous model year. The design of the front cowl is unmistakable however, and even though some might be a little puzzled by the color scheme, the bright red SV lettering will eliminate any doubts.

A closer looks at the 2007 MY SV1000S may reveal the end of your searches, as this bike packs sport and casual fun in ways other machines can only dream about. Plus, you get the unmistakable rumble of a sport-focused v-twin engine which has plenty to offer across the whole rev range.

The frame elements and wheels remain black, adding more sobriety to the bike, while the pointy front cowl and chin spoiler leave no room for interpretations: this bike can go really fast.
