The '''[[Suzuki]] SV650 ABS''' was a v2, [[four-stroke]] Naked [[motorcycle]] produced by [[Suzuki]] between 1999 and 2019. It could reach a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). Max [[torque]] was 47.21 ft/lbs (64.0 Nm) @ 6400 RPM. Claimed [[horsepower]] was 73.35 HP (54.7 KW) @ 8400 RPM.  

==Engine==
The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] v2, four-stroke. A 81.0mm [[bore]] x 62.6mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 645.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).

The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multi-plate.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front [[tire]] and a 160/60-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. abs. two-piston calipers. in the front and a single disc. abs. single [[piston]] in the rear. The front suspension was a  telescopic, coil spring, oil damped while the rear was equipped with a link type, single shock, coil spring, oil damped. The SV650 ABS was fitted with a 3.83 Gallon (14.50 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 379.2 pounds (172.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 56.89 inches (1445 mm) long.

The 2003 MY SV650S is the smaller sister of the might SV1000S, and it packs literally the same grunt and looks, in a downscaled size. That is, the small SV looks just like the big one, retaining all the aggressiveness and all the edgy attire.

However, you'll only be able to squeeze 70 hp from this 645cc liquid-cooled v-twin, yet enjoy the same top-notch maneuverability and city-slicing nerve. If liter-class bikes are not your thing, then the middleweight semi-naked SV should definitely do.

The 2003 MY SV650 is the downscaled, middleweight version of the SV1000 machine and shares most of its features and specs, with the corresponding variations. You'll get a 645cc liquid-cooled v-twin which can produce 70 hp and which can take on  urban jungle, countryside roads, twisties and highways, alike.

The front cowl was ditched and now lets the truss aluminum frame in plain sight, together with a round, slightly retro headlight. Add in cast wheels, a sharp tail section and a fairly generous 17-liter tank for good range and own the roads!

The 2004 MY Suzuki SV 650N has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 645cc, V-Twin powerhouse paired to a six-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 72 horsepower and 64 Nm of torque. In addition, it comes standard with features such as a dual front disc brakes, a telescopic front fork, a link-type, adjustable monoshock as a rear suspension, a two-into-one exhaust system, lightweight, three-spoked, cast-aluminum wheels, a two-piece, dual seat, passenger grab rails and a digital instrumentation panel.

Suzuki updates the 2005 MY of the SV650S with a more sober, sporty attire and introduces an elegant black paint for the frame, swingarm and wheels. The SV650S remains the same popular semi-naked machine which provides sporty performance and precise cornering on both the twisties and in the city. Maneuverability goes hand in hand with a comfy position which makes riding all day long a less fatiguing experience.

The added upper fairing, dual-headlight cowl and windscreen offer better weather protection and increase the usability of the bike in more than perfect dry, warm weather scenarios.

The biggest change for the 2005 MY SV650 can be observed in the cockpit area. The instrument cluster got a visor which is now color matched with the rest of the bike, for a more coherent aesthetic presence. At the same time, the bike received a miniature smoked flyscreen which provides some degree of wind protection. The frame, swingarm and wheels also got a new color. Suzuki ditched the silver paint and replaced it with black for a more racing look.

The radiator was also redesigned and is now 4 cm narrower while retaining its cooling capability, and the front brake fluid reservoir also got a new shape. If you're in for a naked bike with plenty of fun factor and grit, the SV650 is one of the best choices, maybe the naked all-rounder benchmark, even.

If a liter-class naked bike seems like too much for you, Suzuki's SV650S may be the right choice. The bike retains the whole character of the SV1000S, but the whole package is smaller, easier to master and more reassuring. Still, the SV650S can build up a lot of speed and can be very aggressive on both the urban asphalt and out in the canyons.

The 2007 MY SV650S is a machine dedicated to those who appreciate the freedom a naked bike offers, but who are also in search of some extra protection from the elements. Well the upper half-fairing and the windscreen are providing just what these folks need, without drastically altering the overall attire of the bike. Of course, the bare, wind-in-your-face round headlight front end is no longer there, but you can't have both.

Instead you're in for a lot of fun in and around the city, while strapping a pair of soft cases to the tail of the bike will also get you ready for longer trips.

Becoming egdier with each generation, the Suzuki SV650S is one of the elite semi-naked middleweight bikes. The 2008 model year has not brought major changes, save for minor tweaks so you're in for just as much fun as with a 2007 bike. The sleek fairing is providing extra weather protection and makes the bike a better choice for longer trips, even vacations.


The windscreen looks very sporty while the upper half-fairing is housing the aggressive dual headlights. The bike retains the two-piece saddle to retain a sporty attire, but the superior ergonomics render it as a great commuter, as well.

While the 2008 model year SV650S has not introduced major changes to the bike, Suzuki is offering an ABS-equipped machine, with extra safety for the riders who are willing to spend some extra bucks to protect their hides when the going gets tough.


Save for the anti-locking brakes and some extra bulk the ABS modulator adds to the bike, he 2008 MY SV650S ABS is identical in performance and feel to the base model.

Even though most of the middleweight sport bikes are powered by in-line engines, this is not exactly a rule of thumb, and if you want to explore more possibilities, the 2009 MY Suzuki SV650S is one of them. The 2009 Suzuki SV 650 has, at its heart, a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 645cc, V-Twin powerplant mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and can produce a claimed 72 horsepower and 64 Nm of torque. This naked machine boasts standard features such as a telescopic front fork, a link-type, adjustable monoshock as a rear suspension, dual front disc brakes, a dual seat, passenger grab rails, lightweight, three-spoked, cast-aluminum wheels, a nose-fairing, and ABS.

The new SV650 has a polished powerplant that provides increased performance with low emissions and outstanding fuel economy, mated to refined trim and lightweight chassis that delivers a sporty, exciting ride. In addition, the SV650 has a new Low RPM Assist feature that seamlessly adjusts engine speed during take-off and low-speed running to smooth the power delivery and to help eliminate the possibility of the rider stalling the motorcycle. Like its predecessors, the 2017 SV650 promises to have the sparkling performance, style and value that a broad range of riders will enjoy. Also available with ABS.
