The TL1000S was first introduced in 1997, the year later Suzuki introduced the [[Suzuki TL1000R|TL1000R]].
The TL1000S was first introduced in 1997, the year later Suzuki introduced the [[Suzuki TL1000R|TL1000R]].
A semi-naked version of the R-specced TL1000, the 2000 MY Suzuki TL1000S is a sport bike equipped with a v-twin engine. Unlike its track-focused sibling, the TL1000S offers top-drawer performance at a more affordable price, given the non-racing specced pistons, rods and other parts which have been updated for the R-version.
This makes the 2000 MY TL1000S a fun bike oozing useable power and fun both for urban slicing or commuting and canyon carving or track days. The bike boasts all-day-round comfort and plenty of street brawler character to be exceptionally fun.

The Suzuki TL 1000S barnstorming motor, even today, with 125 hp ready to kick your arse within two seconds of opening the throttle fully. Gearbox and clutch are OK, but repeated wheelies can knacker clutches quickly.

The Suzuki TL 1000R has a truly awesome engine, producing a claimed 135bhp and though it revs another 1000 rpm higher than the TL 1000S, the Suzuki TL 1000R still feels like it makes as much poke as a Ducati 916 can manage, by about 6000 revs. Sheer, liquid, adrenaline-pumping lunge and the fuel injection works better on the TL1000R than on the Suzuki TL 1000S.

On of the iconic Suzuki v-twin superbikes, the 2000 MY TL1000R is as good on the track as it is a nifty bike for daily rides. A sportier version of the S-model, the TL1000R arrived with high-er spec components, such as  stronger connecting rods, forged pistons and a much stronger, race-focused frame.
Even though the model was a rather short-lived presence around the tracks, the bike was not short of power with its 135 horsepower and 106 Nm maximum torque.
==2001 Suzuki TL1000S==
The 2001 MY TL1000S brings together the rumble and punchy feel of v-twin engines and the high-performance character of sport bikes. The package is a machine which looks good, sounds good and rides even better. The sporty nature helps the TL1000S roam the streets with unparalleled agility which can also prove its worthiness on the track during a weekend racing with friends.
Improved comfort and accessory luggage systems make the TL1000S a choice to consider for longer trips as well. Obviously, this can also be used as a super-commuter in urban or suburban areas.
