Overview
Suzuki XF425 Ugly Duck
Two wheel drive motorcycles dominated the 1991 Tokyo Show. A number of prototypes were displayed by Honda and Suzuki whist Yamaha also showed an interest in this technology, though two-wheel steering. Suzuki's prototypes were the XF5 and the "Ugly Duck". Whilst it looked like something from Toon Town, Japanese engineers strongly believed in the rideability of two-wheel drives. Being two-wheel drive it could easily replace off-road trikes.Specifications: Water-cooled, single cylinder, two strokeCarburetor Automatic transmission, front wheel drive by triple chains and steering column shaft, chain drive rear wheel.Swingarm suspension with twin spring/dampers front and rearDisc brakes front and rearOff-road tyresDry weight of 120 kg / 265 lbs
