I came across your pictures of the above cycle.  I had a red one in 1964, but I remember mine having a larger front tire than the rear tire.  Do you have any info on that?

Stuff like that can often be hard to find which is why I'm making this site. I have a LOT to contribute to your efforts here as I am a Registered Honda Technician from 85-91 and own www.motorcyclecarbs.com and I end up having an intimate relationship with the carbs of ALL bikes. I am specifically a subject matter expert on all jap bikes from about 77-90. Especially inline 4's. And some dirt bikes.

I also talk to MANY international customers and gain insight on model trivia. You know. This was available from 80-82 in Germany but 80-81 in the US, etc. Also stuff like the TDM850 was also available as a TRX850 in a sport version in Europe. Lots of lil bits that could help out.

And frankly I'm not sure how to conquer it any more than one bike at a time.  What I currently do is some times I'll make a redirect page to whatever the U.S. Model is. I have to ask seeing that you are very web savy, what is your IT skill set?
:well I originally started out with vb6 when i was quite young, however I'm functional with vb.net (i've written a few useful programs including ones to upload pictures to this site) and php (not a pro by any means but its such a simple language). I have a pretty decent knowledge of SQL including SQL injections (definitely the biggest application vulnerability on the web, and the fact is no one seems to care if they are vulnerable to sql injection).  I can pretty much pick up whatever, I'm becoming more familiar with bash scripting(mainly to automate backups and other such tasks), and a perl or python script doesn't faze me.  On the motorcycle side of things I guess I'm extremely intimately familiar with lightspeed NXT and with partsmart and frankly I wouldn't mind working with either one of them to get their products back in shape as their latest releases haven't really been up to par (Partsmart 8 is a joke)--[[User:Budlight]] 18:22, 21 December 2006 (EST)

I'd be willing to take data dumps (even encrypted versions) on a regular basis.

Bud thanks for the pics.  I have been comparing all the 79 pics in candy red.  But there are a few pics that look more on the orange side, ex: the top of the 79 tank, the left side looks red the right side orange. I thought there were 3 stock colors, or is the candy just faded to orange metallic?

:Welcome, According to the Honda Model ID guide there were only two colors Perseur Silver and Candy Glory Red in 1979.  Those pics that look orange should probably be removed.  I think the ones on the upper right are originally from wikipedia, and they are the least accurate of the whole bunch. Added that the 1971 version of the [[Kawasaki G3|G31-M]] also had a cotton-like filter opposite of the carb on the carb cover which helped with air intake. I also edited that the rotary disc valve on the Centurion was steel as opposed to pressed fiber. How do you make a photo display in the wiki?  I just completed a stub "Owning and riding an Early KZ-1000P Police Motorcycle" and although I can include a clickable link that works, I can't get the photos to display. == 1972 S2 Kawasaki 350 triple ==

I just want to share that my first 'real bike' was an almost brand new '72 (I thought it was a '71) S2.  Boy was I proud of that wild ride!  It had the most beautiful candy red that looked as if it was a foot deep in the sun.  It ate sparkplugs from the excessively rich oil injection setting (actually had a recall to change the oil injection pump).  I couldn't go down a street without laying smoke like a mosquito fogger, even after the 'improved oil pump calibration'.  This bike was small for sure, but it also was the only bike that I spilled.  It had a horrible torque curve that came on like a wild horse on steroids at around 4 grand if I recall, and if I wasn't careful, whoops the front end would go light and wheel-stand if I wasn't careful.  Well, it did just that in 1st gear when turning on a city street.  I was young and inexperienced, but the pain & embarassment of having to push my damaged shiny new bike back to my apartment building with a torn shirt and bleeding elbow, was a lesson that taught me to respect all of my future bikes and perhaps guided my some 100,000 accident free bike miles since.  I guess that what I wanted to share was that by 1975 and as the paint faded from the candy apple red to expose the orange beneath, I lost interest in the small bike and sold it for peanuts.  If only I had it now.......
