Engine

The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, single cylinder, OHC. The engine featured a 10.9:1 compression ratio.

Drive

Power was moderated via the Wet multi-plate.

Chassis

Stopping was achieved via 7 in. drum in the front and a 7 indrum in the rear. The front suspension was a Webb fork with two friction dampers while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm with 2 shock absorbers.

Velocette MT 500






MT 500: MT 500 was never sold as a racer, but two machines were built for Stanley Woods and Ted Mellors. They were made ​​late in 1938 and looked similar to the Mk VIII

but had a swingarm rear suspension. The frame was modified slightly to the raise the engine. The bore and stroke of 81 mm and 96 corresponded to that of the 500 cc MSS.
