A 55.9mm bore x 55.9mm stroke result in a displacement of just 124.8 cubic centimeters.

DriveEdit

The bike has a 3-Speed transmission. Power was moderated via the Wet Multi-plate.

ChassisEdit

It came with a 3.5 x 8" front tire and a 3.5 x 8" rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Drum 124 mm in the front and a Drum 126 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a Variable flexible coil spring while the rear was equipped with a Double hydraulic shock absorbers. The wheelbase was 45.71 inches (1161 mm) long.

Although the price is much more attractive than the normal 125 , this series did lead to customer satisfaction. Components were too spartan, and the U was not appreciated even economic reasons. To further reduce the price of the U, Piaggio intervened with may of the details : all chrome disappeared , the engine cover was lightened , the right front fender and hood were trimmed.
