The '''[[Yamaha]] FJR1300A''' was a in-line four, [[four-stroke]] Sport touring [[motorcycle]] produced by [[Yamaha]] between 2001 and 2019. It could reach a top speed of 162 mph (260 km/h). Max [[torque]] was 101.79 ft/lbs (138.0 Nm) @ 7000 RPM. Claimed [[horsepower]] was 143.09 HP (106.7 KW) @ 8000 RPM.  

==Engine==
The engine was a [[liquid cooled]] in-line four, four-stroke. A 79.0mm [[bore]] x 66.2mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 1298.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).  

==Drive==
The bike has a 6-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the multiplate assist-and-slipper wet clutch.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front [[tire]] and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. unified brake system and abs in the front and a single disc. unified brake system and abs in the rear. The front suspension was a  48mm fork, fully adjustable while the rear was equipped with a single shock, adjustable preload and rebound damping, 4.9-in travel. The FJR1300A was fitted with a 6.6 Gallon (24.98 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 590.84 pounds (268.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 60.79 inches (1544 mm) long.  

==Specifications==

The FJR1300 has a 1298cc inline-4 cylinder engine, 5-speed transmission, and 3-disc brakes.

The FJR1300 was introduced to North America in 2002 with the 2003 model year designation and offered in a non-ABS version only.  It had 298mm front rotors.

The 2004 North American models included both a non-ABS version with traditional blue [[anodize|anodized]] brake [[caliper]]s and a new ABS version.  Both are Cerulean Silver.  Other refinements included an upgrade to the suspension rates, 320mm front brake rotors, and a [[fairing]] pocket for small items.

The 2005 North American model year remained structurally unchanged with a non-ABS and ABS model in Galaxy Blue.

A second batch of 2005 motorcycles were released.

In 2006 the U.S. and World model years synchronized and design significantly changed.

The base FJR1300A model has ABS and is Cobalt Blue..

FJR1300AE differs from the FJR1300A in that it features an electric-shift five-speed transmission that eliminates the clutch lever.

When it comes to sport-touring, Yamaha's FJR1300 flagship is a benchmark. It packs amazing comfort with power and torque on tap, backed by rich on-board equipment and a lot of superbike-derived technologies. The massive 48mm forks are fully-adjustable and equipped with R2 brakes, but bigger rotors and optional ABS.

The 1298cc lump is good for just under 150 horsepower at 8500 rpm and has plenty of torque available right off idle. A tall electric windshield, fairing storage, saddlebags and excellent ergonomics are all standard equipment.

The AE version of the  2005 FJR1300 introduces several upgrades which are meant to make life easier and rides more pleasant aboard this amazing sport-touring machine. The heated grips and power windshield are of course, awesome, but even more touring comfort comes is the shape of the all-new, exclusive Yamaha electric shifting.

Riders can now enjoy the smooth transitions using the semi-automatic gearbox. Riders can use either the Up and Down buttons on the handlebar or shift gears with their left foot using the classic shift lever approach, but with no clutch lever action needed whatsoever. The biggest change introduced by the 2006 FJR1300AE over the same model year 1300A version is the automatic clutch. The Yamaha Chip Controlled shifting adds a new dimension to riding this bike, with the wide-ratio gearing providing both excellent acceleration and high-speed fun. Shifting can be done by means of either the foot lever of the bar-mounted buttons, for fast and precise transitions.

The electronically-controlled clutchless shifting system of the FJR1300AE carried on through the 2009 model year. The Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift or YCCS revolutionized the sport-touring segment, and it allows the rider to use the handlebar-mounted + and - buttons or the traditional foot shifter lever to change gears, but without having anything to do clutch-wise.

The 2013 MY FJR1300A now offers a D-mode (Drive-mode) for varying throttle mappings, giving the motorcycle exceptional versatility. This works in conjunction with YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) and the new intake/exhaust systems, generating engine character that can be sportier or more relaxed depending on riding situations. T-Mode provides good performance characteristics needed for touring. The S-mode maximizes the performance characteristics for a sportier ride.

Traction control developed from MotoGP technology is standard on the new FJR1300A. While engaged, the system detects wheel spin and adjusts ignition timing, fuel injection volume, and throttle opening to help maintain traction. The system is designed to let the operator ride on wet roads and unpaved surfaces with more confidence.
