The engine was a air cooled single cylinder, four-stroke. Fuel was supplied via a overhead valves (ohv).

It came with a 400/10-4pr front tire and a 400/10-4pr rear tire. Stopping was achieved via expanding brake (drum brake) in the front and a expanding brake (drum brake) in the rear. The front suspension was a bottom link while the rear was equipped with a unit swingarm. The Riva 200Z was fitted with a 1.7 Gallon (6.43 Liters) fuel tank.
