The '''[[Yamaha]] XJR1300''' was a in-line four, [[four-stroke]] Naked [[motorcycle]] produced by [[Yamaha]] between 1998 and 2018. It could reach a top speed of 135 mph (218 km/h). Max [[torque]] was 79.96 ft/lbs (108.4 Nm) @ 6000 RPM. Claimed [[horsepower]] was 95.88 HP (71.5 KW) @ 8000 RPM.  

==Engine==
The engine was a [[air cooled]] in-line four, four-stroke. A 79.0mm [[bore]] x 63.8mm [[stroke]] result in a [[displacement]] of just 1251.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin [[cam]] (dohc).  

==Drive==
The bike has a 5-speed transmission. Power was moderated via the wet, multiple-disc coil spring.  

==Chassis==
It came with a 120/70-zr17 front [[tire]] and a 180/55-zr17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via double disc. hydraulic in the front and a single disc. hydraulic in the rear. The front suspension was a  telescopic forks. while the rear was equipped with a swingarm. öhlins.. The XJR1300 was fitted with a 5.55 Gallon (21.00 Liters) fuel tank. The bike weighed just 489.43 pounds (222.0 Kg). The wheelbase was 59.06 inches (1500 mm) long.  

==1998 - 2004 Yamaha XJR 1300==

The XJR 1300 is the successor of the XJR 1200 that originated in 1995. The 1300 was famous for its strong 'big block' character with already massive power, available at very low revs. In addition to its sports appeal, reminiscent of the superbikes of the '80s, this big bike was very easy to ride and the ample seat space and comfortable suspensions offered a relaxed ride.

Evan though the names of the FJR1300 and the XJR1300 might cause a bit of confusion, the latter is a different machine, altogether. If you're in for a retro-styled naked beast with tons of power and excellent long-range comfort, then this bike is the right choice. The 2002 XJR1300 is powered by an air-cooled in-line 4 engine which has what it need to put a big smile on your face as you twist the throttle.

With looks  harking back to the 70's this bike is however using fuel injection and premium suspensions, for razor-sharp handling, both on the highway and the countryside roads. Cast wheels, [[EXUP]] exhausts, and an R1 front end for impeccable braking, the 2002 XJR1300 could not be any more inviting.

Indeed XJR 1300 has undergone a real model improvement in many aspects. The major target for the changes is to improve handling and riding feeling on winding country lanes, the typical terrain of XJR 1300. The handling improvements are also quite helpful in city traffic of course. The bike flips much easier into corners and filtering through traffic makes you feel riding a much smaller machine.
