The Yamaha XS400 DOHC was a twin, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1978 and 1990. It could reach a top speed of 89 mph (143 km/h). Claimed horsepower was 26.42 HP (19.7 KW) @ 8000 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a air cooled twin, four-stroke. A 69.0mm bore x 53.4mm stroke result in a displacement of just 399.0 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Drive[edit | edit source]

The bike has a 6-speed transmission.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

It came with a 3.00-18 front tire and a 4.00-18 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a expanding brake in the rear. The XS400 DOHC was fitted with a 4.76 Gallon (18.00 Liters) fuel tank.
