The Yamaha XT 660 is a series of dual purpose on/off road motorcycles released by Yamaha Motors as a replacement for the old XT 600, a motorcycle very popular with the off-road and travelling crowd.
It's an evolution of the original XT series ('X' stands for 4-stroke, 'T' for monocylindric), a line of motorcycles inspired on those used on the Paris-Dakar rally, and designed to withstand extreme conditions of terrain while retaining features specific to urban use.
It has a 660cc water cooled engine with 35 kilowatt, disk brakes on both wheels, electronic fuel injection and catalysators.
