The Yamaha XT 660Z Tenere was a Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, single cylinder, SOHC Enduro motorcycle produced by Yamaha in 2009.
Drive[edit | edit source]
The bike has a 5 speed transmission.
Chassis[edit | edit source]
It came with a 90/90-21 front tire and a 130/80-17 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Double disc 298 mm in the front and a Single disc 245 mm in the rear. The front suspension was a telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a swingarm.
2009 Yamaha XT 660Z Tenere[edit | edit source]
The Yamaha XT 660Z Tenere’s engine is used in a number of other machines (including the Aprilia Pagaso, MT-03, Derbi Mulhacen as well as the XT 660 X and R models) complaints of a jerky throttle, stalling and mid rev hunting have been fixed on the Tenere. The engine accelerates cleanly from a closed throttle and pulls well (for a single) up to 70 mph. Intrusive Vibes begin at 5000 rpm. The smooth-shifting 5-speed transmission is equipped with carefully chosen gear ratios that are designed to optimise the bike’s strong low to mid-range torque output, and the 2.9 litre transmission oil capacity ensures efficient engine operation even under severe conditions.
