Engine
The engine was a Air cooled cooled Four stroke, 75°V-twin cylinder, SOHC, 2 valve per cylinder. The engine featured a 9.7:1 compression ratio.
Chassis
It came with a 100/90-16 front tire and a 170/80-15 rear tire. Stopping was achieved via Single 298mm disc 2 piston caliper in the front and a 200mm Drum in the rear. The front suspension was a Telescopic fork while the rear was equipped with a Swingarm Monocross. The XVS400 Drag Star was fitted with a 15 Liters / 3.9 US gal fuel tank.
