This motorcycle introduced the innovative Yamaha "Autolube" oil injection system, which eliminated premixing two-cycle oil and gasoline. Later in '64, Yamaha was recognized for this innovation when Auto & Motor Sport Magazine gave Yamaha their "Safety & Engineering Award."
