The engine featured a 12.0:1 compression ratio.

Drive[edit | edit source]

Power was moderated via the Single disc dry clutch, hydraulically actuated.

Chassis[edit | edit source]

Stopping was achieved via 2 x 320 mm discs, 4-piston calipers in the front and a Single 265 mm disc, 2-piston caliper in the rear. The front suspension was a BMW Motorrad Telelever, stanchion diameter 35mm, central spring strut, rebound damping electronically adjustable with standard ESA while the rear was equipped with a Die-cast aluminum single-sided swinging arm with BMW Motorrad EVO-Paralever, spring preload hydraulically adjustable to continuously variable levels by means of electronically adjustable ESA, rebound damping with standard ESA. The R1200RT and ST was fitted with a 27 Liters / 7.1 US gal fuel tank.
