Al Hadfield

Set a new record for the 'Three Flags' run (Canada to Mexico non-stop), beating Cannonball Baker's run on an Indian. Hadfield, without factory support, covered the 1,689 miles (2718km) on a standard 61ci (1000cc) Harley in 51 hours 22 minutes, a record that was broken by Wells Bennett on an Excelsior the following year. However, Hadfield managed to retrieve it that November, in a time of 49 hours exactly.
