The Aprilia Tuono V4 R ABS was a v4, four-stroke Naked motorcycle produced by Aprilia between 2003 and 2015. Max torque was 82.24 ft/lbs (111.5 Nm) @ 9500 RPM. Claimed horsepower was 166.42 HP (124.1 KW) @ 11500 RPM.

Engine[edit | edit source]

The engine was a liquid cooled v4, four-stroke. A 78.0mm bore x 52.3mm stroke result in a displacement of just 999.6 cubic centimeters. Fuel was supplied via a double overhead cams/twin cam (dohc).

Derived from the Superbike program and trimmed to enhance streetability on various roads and with multiple riding styles, this bike brings a new timing, multiple engine and throttle bodies revisions and shortened first 3 gears.

The engine rpm at max power has also been reduced to 11,500, with a rev limiter at 12,300 rpm. Three mappings are constantly available to the experienced rider: Track, Sport and Road, for instantaneous changes in power delivery and performance.

The 2014 MY Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC ABS is one of the most sought after naked superbikes available on the market. This one-liter machine comes standard with the APRC, the patented control system package that has been derived from Aprilia's fully-faired RSV4 flagship superbike. The APRC allows the rider to make custom settings on some electronic systems, to better suit the needs at any given moment.

The engine, a 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, 999cc V4, is extremely compact, taking no more room than a twin-cylinder. It develops an impressive 167 horsepower and 111 Nm of torque.
